AI Interview: setup and candidate guide

AI Interview is an interview run by an AI interviewer. The AI asks role-specific questions by voice, the candidate answers by speaking, and the system produces a report with per-skill ratings, a summary and a transcript.

For admins: create an AI interview

  1. Go to AI Interview → Interview Creation and click New Interview.
  2. Interview settings:
    • Optionally Copy from existing interview to reuse a schema.
    • Interview Title and Language. Interviews are multilingual: questions are translated and the first question is asked in the chosen language.
    • Avatar and Accent: choose a voice from the list filtered by the chosen language and click Play voice before confirming. Premium voices are available on request.
    • Interview Category (including Personal Aptitude), Experience (ranges such as 2–4 years) and Industry Domain.
    • Upload JD (PDF/PNG/JPG, up to 10 MB), or use Get JD from AI to generate a job description.
    • Schedule time zone, interview start and expire date and time, and duration in minutes.
  3. Area:
    • Question Mode: Fixed, Fixed + Dynamic, or Dynamic.
    • Add areas and the number of questions per area, or click Get suggestion from AI.
    • Add Compulsory Questions for questions that must be asked.
    • Skills & Description with a Weightage for each skill. Total weightage must be exactly 100%.
    • Options: AI proctored, window-switch alert limit (minimum 3), profile screening with resume matching percentage, disable typing, dynamic interview aspects, and documents candidates must upload.
  4. Questions: set the initial question, welcome note, interview instructions and additional instructions (up to 500 characters), then click Submit.

For admins: interview options after creation

On the interview row, open More Actions (three dots):

  • Configure Competencies & Scoring Parameters: add competencies and weighted scoring parameters.
  • Interview Configuration: allow resume/CV upload, configure as mock interview, enable an in-person interview after the AI interview (with duration), enable video recording, and allow the interviewer to ask questions during the interview.
  • Notification Configuration: email and WhatsApp messages at assignment, 24 hours and 1 hour before, and recurring. Candidate and interviewer templates are separate. See Notification Scheduler.
  • Manage Schedule, and Extend Deadline for expired schedules.

For admins: assign candidates

  1. Go to AI Interview → Interview Assignment.
  2. Select the interview and schedule, tick candidates and choose Actions → Assign Interview, or assign by batch.
  3. Upload CVs and documents per candidate (Upload Documents) or for many candidates at once (Upload Folder, one PDF per candidate).
  4. With profile screening on, the list shows Match % and Shortlisted.
  5. Row actions include Candidate Analysis, Reset, ReAttempt, and Enable Remote Interview. Resume Interview and End Interview are under Actions.

For admins: results

Open AI Interview → Interview Result. The report starts with per-skill ratings and a summary, then strengths and improvement areas per skill, and the transcript. For AI-proctored interviews it also includes candidate sentiment analysis (emotion and engagement from video). AI interview reports can be exported in bulk.

In-person round after the AI interview

If an in-person interview is enabled, the interviewer clicks Join Now once the candidate submits the AI interview. The screen is shared, and competencies not covered in the AI interview appear in the report. Interviewer performance is under AI Interview → Interviewer Analysis.

For candidates: before you start

  • Laptop or desktop with a working webcam and microphone, latest Google Chrome, stable internet.
  • A quiet, well-lit room.
  • If asked for a resume, upload it once in your profile; it is reused for later interviews.

For candidates: during the interview

  1. Open the interview link and log in with the username and password from your email.
  2. Complete the system check and identity verification if asked. See Before your exam: system check.
  3. If the interview is recorded, click Share My Screen, choose Entire Screen, and stay in full screen.
  4. Listen to each question (it is also shown on screen) and answer by speaking. Some interviews include code-based questions.
  5. Stay in front of the camera. Your face is checked every 20 seconds; after 3 failed checks you are taken back to the resume page.
  6. After the last question, end the interview. Responses are saved automatically.

The recording includes the AI interviewer's voice.

Common candidate questions

Can I use my phone?
A laptop or desktop with Chrome is recommended. Check with your institute or recruiter.

My webcam or microphone is not working.
Allow camera and microphone in the browser's site settings and retry the system check. The interview cannot go ahead without them.
