Supported devices, browsers and internet
For: candidates
Recommended setup
A laptop or desktop with the latest Google Chrome, a working webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection. This works for every exam type.
Devices
| Device | Supported? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Windows laptop / desktop | Yes | Required for exams that use the Secure Exam App. |
| MacBook / iMac | Yes | Use Chrome and allow Camera, Microphone and Screen Recording permissions. See exams on a MacBook. |
| Android phone / tablet | Yes, for most proctored exams | Use Chrome. Screen sharing on mobile is limited. |
| iPhone / iPad | Yes, for most proctored exams | Camera permissions can be restricted on iPhone; a laptop/desktop or Android is recommended. |
Image-capture proctoring, video proctoring (with or without a live proctor), AI proctoring and screen-sharing exams are supported on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. However, some institutes and exam setups are laptop/desktop only. Always check your institute's instructions — if in doubt, use a laptop or desktop with Chrome.
Browsers
- Google Chrome (latest) — recommended.
- Microsoft Edge (latest) — works unless your institute requires Chrome.
- If your browser is not supported you will see: Your current browser does not support our application. Please use the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for appearing in this test.
- Some institutes allow Chrome only. Opening the login page in another browser shows Open only through Google Chrome. Switch to Chrome.
Internet
- Use a stable connection — wired or strong Wi-Fi. Your speed is measured throughout the exam.
- Bandwidth drops can cause missing proctoring video segments. Run the System Check on the same network you will use for the exam.
- Stop other downloads, streaming and video calls on the network during the exam.
Other requirements
- Webcam and microphone for proctored exams and AI interviews.
- Screen-sharing exams: be ready to share your Entire Screen.
- File-upload answers: each file must be under 10 MB.
