What are online exam credits and how do they work?
Eklavvya bills usage in exam credits. One credit is consumed when one candidate completes one exam. Credits sit in your organization's wallet and are deducted as exams are conducted.
The basics
- 1 credit = 1 candidate × 1 exam. So 1,000 credits can be used as 1,000 candidates taking one exam each, or 500 candidates each taking two exams, or any combination.
- Mock / practice tests do not consume credits when marked as Mock in the exam settings.
- Started but auto-terminated attempts (e.g. ended by malpractice) still consume the credit.
- Cancelled / absent candidates who never started the exam do not consume credits.
- Re-evaluation of an existing attempt does not consume an extra credit.
Where to see your credit balance
- Log in as admin.
- Open Settings → Billing → Credits.
- You'll see:
- Available credits — current balance.
- Used this month — consumption in the current billing month.
- Used this year — annual consumption.
- Recent transactions — per-exam debit log.
How to top up
- Click Add Credits on the Billing & Credits page.
- Pick a credit pack: 1,000 / 5,000 / 10,000 / 50,000 or a custom amount.
- Pick payment method: bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS), credit/debit card, UPI, or invoice (for enterprise accounts).
- Click Pay. Credits are added to your wallet immediately (card / UPI) or within 1 working day (bank transfer / invoice).
Volume pricing
The per-credit price reduces with volume. For exact pricing tiers (1K / 5K / 25K / 100K+ credit packs) contact sales at info@eklavvya.com or book a 30-minute pricing call.
Credit expiry
Standard credits do not expire as long as your organization account is active. Promotional / trial credits expire on the date stated when they were issued — check the credit transaction log for the expiry date.
Low-balance alerts
The system auto-emails admin contacts when your balance drops below 10% of your last top-up, and again at 0. Configure additional alert thresholds in Settings → Billing → Alerts.
Common questions
What if a candidate starts an exam and disconnects without finishing — is the credit consumed?
Yes, if the attempt was started. The credit is consumed when the exam state moves from "scheduled" to "in progress" or beyond.
Can I get a refund on unused credits?
Generally no — credits are non-refundable. Contact sales for enterprise contract terms which may differ.
What about AI Interview / AI Descriptive Evaluation — do those consume more credits per session?
Yes — AI-driven exams (AI Interview, AI Descriptive, AI OSM) consume more than 1 credit per candidate per session because they include AI inference costs. The exact multiplier is shown when you create the exam type.
