What does a "fixed schedule" mean for an online exam?
Every Eklavvya exam uses one of three schedule types, chosen when the exam is created:

| Flexi Schedule | The exam is open for a window (start to expiry). Candidates can start any time in the window and get the full exam duration from when they start, as long as the window is still open. |
| Fixed Schedule | Everyone starts at the same time. The schedule expiry is calculated automatically as start time + exam duration. A candidate who joins late only gets the time that is left. |
| Flexi with Fixed Exam Time | A combination of both: the exam is scheduled over a window, with a fixed exam time. |
For admins
- When you create a schedule for a Fixed Schedule exam (Exam Management → Exam Scheduler → New), the expiry date and time fields are disabled and filled in for you.
- The 30-day maximum schedule window does not apply to Fixed Schedule exams. See Exam schedule rules.
- To stop late starters on a Flexi schedule, use Allowed Late Entry Time.
For candidates: fixed schedule example
"Exam starts at 10:00 AM, duration 2 hours." The exam ends at 12:00 PM for everyone. If you log in at 10:30 AM, you have 90 minutes; the clock does not restart.
For candidates: flexi (window) example
"Available from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, duration 2 hours."

Tip: start early in the window. Starting late means the window can close before you have used your full duration. Your institute may also set a late-entry cut-off after which you cannot start.
How to tell which one your exam uses
- Look at your exam email or admit card.
- A single start time (for example "10:00 AM start") usually means a fixed schedule.
- A range (for example "9:00 AM to 9:00 PM") means a window.
- If unclear, ask your institute's exam coordinator. Eklavvya support cannot change the schedule type.
