Exam schedule rules: 30-day limit, late entry and authentication time

Where these rules apply

These rules apply in Exam Management → Exam Scheduler → New (Create New Exam Schedule) and when you edit an existing schedule.

Rule 1: schedule window of 30 days or less

The Schedule Expire Date & Time must be no more than 30 days after the Schedule Start Date & Time. If you enter a longer window, saving fails with:

Schedule End Date Time should not be greater than 30 days from Schedule Start Date Time.

Exams with a Fixed Schedule are not affected: their expiry is calculated automatically from the start time plus the exam duration.
The limit does not apply to AI interview schedules.
For a longer campaign, create consecutive schedules (for example one per month).

Rule 2: Allowed Late Entry Time

Allowed Late Entry Time (In Mins) closes the door to late starters. After the schedule start time plus this many minutes:

Candidates who have not started cannot go past their dashboard to begin the exam.
Candidates who already started, or who began authentication within the window, can still start or resume.

Example: schedule starts 10:00, late entry 15 minutes. A candidate who logs in at 10:20 without having started cannot begin. A candidate who started at 10:05 and got disconnected can resume.

Enter whole minutes only.
Keep it shorter than the exam duration. The form also rejects a value greater than the schedule window, with the message "Allowed entry time cannot be greater than schedule window duration".
The field appears only for institutes where late entry control is enabled (institute-level setting enabled by Eklavvya support).

Rule 3: Authentication Time

For proctored exams, Authentication Time (In Mins) is how long candidates have to complete identity verification. New schedules default to 15 minutes. Where the field is editable, it must be between 15 and 180 minutes ("Authentication Time Must Be Between 15 and 180 Minutes.").

The same section of the schedule form also has:

Candidate need to show identity card (in front of web camera) for verification at the start of online exam? (Yes / No)
Allow proctor to recognize or verify candidate face? (Yes / No)
Compare profile picture with candidate face image? (Yes / No; enabled per institute). See ID and face verification.
Show proctor to candidate during assessment? (Yes / No)

Other schedule behaviour

Time zone: choose the Schedule Time Zone. Time zones with daylight saving use the live UTC offset (gradual rollout).
Start date cannot be in the past.
Fixed Schedule exams: the expiry fields are disabled and filled automatically. See What is a fixed schedule?
Editing an exam: the Edit icon in Exam Creation is disabled while the exam has an active schedule.
