How to assign examiners for descriptive assessments
For: institute admins
Examiners evaluate theory (subjective) answers according to the exam schema and marking scheme. You assign candidates' answer sheets to examiners; each examiner then sees only the candidates assigned to them.
Before you start
- Create a user for each examiner: Organisation → User Profile → New, role Examiner. Each examiner needs their own login because two-factor authentication is mandatory.
- The exam must contain subjective questions and candidates must have attempted it.
Assign candidates to an examiner
- Go to Examiner → Assign to Examiner.
- Pick a From/To date range and click Go, then filter by Exam, Schedule Date Time, Batch, Subject and Topic.
- Tick the candidates and choose Actions → Assign Examiner.
- In the dialog, search for the examiner and click Add Selection.
- Set the Schedule time zone and the Examiner schedule expire date & time (the evaluation deadline), then click Assign Examiner.
Other options under Actions: Assign Examiner in Bulk (more than 3,000 candidates supported), Update Examiner End Schedule in Bulk, View Assigned Examiners, Remove Assigned Candidates, and Import (import assignments from Excel).
The examiner receives an email with the evaluation details and login credentials.
Review or change assignments
- In Assign to Examiner, open View Assigned Candidates.
- Search by candidate name, email or roll number.
- To take candidates away from an examiner, select them and remove the selected candidates.
What the examiner sees
- Answer sheets of assigned candidates, including uploaded answer files.
- The exam document, if one was attached to the exam.
- The evaluation expiry date.
- Correct and incorrect marks shown in brackets.
