How to fix the time zone for an Eklavvya exam

Eklavvya uses your device clock and time zone to validate exam links. If your device time is wrong, you may see "exam link expired" even when the window is still open, or the "Start Exam" button may not appear. Fix is on the device, not in the Eklavvya portal.

On Windows

  1. Open Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time.
  2. Turn ON "Set time automatically".
  3. Turn ON "Set time zone automatically".
  4. Click Sync now.
  5. Close all browser windows and reopen the exam link from the original email.

On macOS

  1. Open System Settings → General → Date & Time.
  2. Turn ON "Set time and time zone automatically".
  3. If the toggle is greyed out, click the lock icon and authenticate first.
  4. Close the browser fully and re-open the exam link.

On Android

  1. Open Settings → System → Date & Time (or General Management → Date & Time on Samsung).
  2. Enable Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone.
  3. Re-open the exam link.

On iPhone / iPad

  1. Open Settings → General → Date & Time.
  2. Turn ON "Set Automatically".
  3. If the option is greyed out, restart the device once.
  4. Re-open the exam link.

If the problem continues after syncing

  1. Clear the last-hour cookies for the exam domain: browser Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Last hour → Cookies + Cached images.
  2. Close the browser completely and reopen.
  3. Use the exam link from the original email — do not reuse a cached tab.
