How to download a topic-wise report

The topic-wise report breaks down each candidate's performance by question topic — useful for identifying weak areas, designing remedial content, or feeding back into placement / progression decisions.

Prerequisite

Topic-wise reporting requires that questions in the exam are tagged with topics. When creating a question (or via bulk upload), set the Topic field. Without topics, the report runs but every question rolls up under "Untagged".

Steps

  1. Log in as admin.
  2. Go to Result → Candidate Result.
  3. Select the exam.
  4. Optional: filter by batch, candidate ID, or date.
  5. From the Action menu, select Topic-wise Result.
  6. Click Generate.
  7. Click Export to Excel to download.

What's in the report

ColumnWhat it shows

Variations of the topic-wise report

  • Per candidate — one block per candidate showing every topic.
  • Per topic — one block per topic showing every candidate (toggle this from the report header).
  • Batch summary — aggregate per-topic averages across the whole batch.

Common questions

Why does the report show many questions under "Untagged"?
Those questions were created without a topic tag. Go to Question Bank, open each question, set the topic, and re-run the report.

Can I email the topic-wise report directly to each candidate?
Yes — from Result → Publish, enable Email topic-wise breakdown to candidate before publishing. Candidates receive their personal report by email.

Can I view it as a graph?
Yes — in the report view, click Chart to see a per-topic bar chart per candidate, or batch-level radar charts.
