Proctor dashboard guide (Proctoring 2.0)
For: proctors and proctor admins
Proctoring 2.0 is the live monitoring dashboard for exams created from April 2026. Video is recorded and shown to the proctor in short chunks. You see the whole session, with a small delay.
Expected delays
| Item | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Candidate video | Arrives in 30–60 second chunks. You see everything, a little behind real time. |
| Chat messages | Delivered with a 5–10 second delay. |
| AI image capture | Every 30 seconds when AI proctoring is on. |
| Chat and video-save interval | 20 seconds by default. Eklavvya support can change it. |
Open the dashboard
- Sign in on the proctor login page with the credentials you received by email (see define a proctor). The Proctor Dashboard opens after sign-in.
- Select the exam in -- Select Exam -- and the slot in -- Select Schedule --, then click Search.
- If your institute has it enabled, Show Today's Exams shows every candidate scheduled across all exams today.
- New to the page? The page tour walks you through every icon.
Counts bar
The bar above the grid updates on its own:
- Candidate Count: total candidates in the selection.
- Not Yet Authenticated: candidates who have not submitted ID or face images yet.
- Pending for Approval: candidates waiting for you to approve.
- Rejected, Approved, Pause, Terminated.
Candidate cards
- Each card shows the candidate's video. Cards are sorted by status.
- The bottom strip always shows Mute / Unmute, Chat, the time remaining and the alert count. The alert count turns red when there is at least one alert.
- Hover a card to see more actions:
- Reconnect: reconnects the candidate's stream if it drops.
- Pause Exam: pauses the candidate's timer. Click again to resume. Both ask you to confirm.
- Terminate Exam: ends the candidate's exam. You must enter a reason of at least 20 characters.
- Zoom / Enlarge: shows the face video, screen share and ID card at full size.
- Use the Cols slider (− / +) to change how many cards fit in a row.
AI alerts
When AI proctoring is on, the AI Messages panel beside the grid lists alerts from all candidates, such as no face, multiple faces or wrong face. Click an alert to open that candidate. If the exam's AI messages setting is on, the candidate also sees a warning. Repeated consecutive violations can terminate the exam automatically. The institute sets the threshold.
Chat with one candidate
- Click the chat icon on the candidate's card. Unread messages pulse green.
- Type your message and send it. Remember chat is delayed by 5–10 seconds.
Broadcast to all candidates
- Click Broadcast Message to All Active Candidates in the top bar.
- In Select Message, pick a predefined message or choose Custom and type your own. Predefined messages include Welcome Message, Exam Session Recording Warning, Exam Pause for 360-degree view, Exam Cancellation Warning, Unfair Practice Warning, Closed Book Exam and Technical Issue / Exam Hanged.
- Send. Every active candidate in the selection receives it.
Approve or reject ID and face verification
- A candidate who has submitted images shows ID Verification and, if face verification is on, Face Verification badges on their card. Click a badge to open Authenticate Candidate.
- Compare the ID or face image with the candidate. Click an image to zoom, or use View Identity Card / View Face Image to open it in a new tab.
- Click Approve, or choose a Rejection Reason and click Reject.
- ID reasons: Invalid Identity, Not Visible, Incorrect Name, Late Login, Reject Candidate Permanently, Custom.
- Face reasons: Invalid Capture, Not Visible, Reject Candidate Permanently, Custom.
Default authentication window for new schedules: 15 minutes. Depending on institute settings, a proctor can approve the face on the first attempt. Candidate-side steps: ID and face verification.
Let a candidate skip ID verification
- When a candidate is waiting on the ID page, their card shows "Candidate is on the Identity page." with a check icon (Allow candidate to proceed to the exam).
- Click the icon. The Proceed Candidate without ID window asks "Are you sure you want to allow the candidate to proceed to the exam without ID verification?"
- Click Confirm. The candidate moves on to face verification or straight into the exam.
Bulk Authentication Approval (admins)
- Go to Proctor → Bulk Authentication Approval (page title Proctor Bulk Approval).
- Select the schedule date range and the exam.
- Candidates are listed with their Roll No., Name, Proctor and Authentication Reason. Use the All / Pending / Approved tabs.
- Select the candidates and click Approve. Approved candidates appear under List of Bulk Approved Candidates.
The admin-side Proctor → Proctor Dashboard also shows per-proctor counts (Assigned, Approved, Rejected, Pending, Yet to Authenticate). It has Show Pending Candidates and Approve All Candidate(ID) / Approve All Candidate(Face) actions.
Chat history and proctor comments
- Go to Proctor → User Identification and select the exam.
- From a candidate's actions, open Chat History. Candidate and proctor messages are shown side by side. You can also open Authentication Images and Proctor Comments.
- Chat and comments can be exported from this page.
Troubleshooting
A card shows no video. Video arrives in 30–60 second chunks, so wait a minute. If the stream has dropped, use Reconnect. Poor candidate bandwidth can leave gaps in the recording.
My message didn't show up straight away. Chat is delayed by 5–10 seconds in Proctoring 2.0.
Retention: remote-proctoring images, audio and video are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. See how long proctoring data is kept.
